New San Jose Sharks general manager Mike Grier wasn’t shy about making a trade in the first round of the NHL Draft in Montreal on Thursday.
The Sharks traded their original first-round pick at No. 11 overall to the Arizona Coyotes for three draft choices, including a first-rounder at No. 27 that they used on Swedish center Filip Bystedt.
The Sharks also received two second-round selections in the deal, at nos. 34 and 45, overall, and as of Thursday night, own 10 picks on the second day of the draft Friday when rounds two through seven are completed.
