Cincinnati Bengals great A.J. Green announced his retirement from football on Monday, capping off a stellar career that sent the NFL world into appreciation mode.
Green, after all, was one of the greatest receivers of his generation. For Bengals fans, he was an unexpected light that led out of darker times after Carson Palmer’s retirement alongside the likes of Geno Atkins.
For folks like Ravens fans, he was a respected, bitter rival who always seemed to have their number.
In the wake of Green’s retirement, the NFL world praised Green’s impressive career, reminisced on the good times and so much more. Here’s a look at the reactions.

Geno Atkins and A.J. Green both would've been household names and talked about a lot more had they not played in the same generation as Aaron Donald and Julio Jones.

A.J Green will be a tough Hall of Fame debate. But his peak was easily better than two recent WRs that eventually got in: Isaac Bruce, Art Monk.

Happy Retirement to the one and only, A.J. Green. 6 seasons over 1000 yards, multiple Pro Bowls, and some of my favorite memories as a Bengals fan.

A.J. Green, the first wide receiver ever to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven seasons and who spent the past two years with the Cardinals, has decided to retire at age 34.

Ravens had plenty of great battles against A.J. Green, who announced his retirement on IG.
From 2011 to 2017, Green recorded more TD catches against the Ravens than any other player (6 TDs). He averaged 81.7 yards receiving over 10 games against Baltimore during that span. https://t.co/fi7m2Z4Zgn
