Can the Washington Commanders make it two wins in a row on Sunday? For Washington to improve to 4-3, it must defeat the struggling New York Giants (1-5).
The Giants were a surprise playoff team in 2022 under first-year head coach Brian Daboll. Both of New York’s meetings with Washington came down to the wire, as the teams tied in the Week 13 game. The Commanders and Giants played two weeks later, with New York coming away with a 20-12 win.
Those two games likely cost the Commanders a chance at the playoffs as they had entered Week 13 firmly in the playoff race yet were eliminated by Week 17 after going winless in four consecutive games.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is unlikely to play Sunday due to a neck injury. Jones is 5-1-1 in his career vs. Washington. Jones hasn’t had the same success against the rest of the NFL. So, it’s no surprise that the Commanders are favored in Week 7.
But who do the experts believe wins Sunday’s game?
According to NFL Pickwatch, 72% of the picks are in for the Commanders. As we know all too well, that means nothing, as we saw one week ago when the experts picked the Falcons over Washington — and the Commanders won.
