Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy was the talk of the NFL scouting combine on Saturday after he blazed through the 40-yard dash with a record-breaking time of 4.21 seconds, a feat that left NFL players, pundits and fans buzzing.
It also presented the NFL’s social media team with the perfect opportunity to troll Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, something they’ve done in the past during the combine.
Well, the league’s social crew was at it again on X, formerly Twitter, posting a 40-yard dash overlay of Mahomes and Worthy, with the latter leaving the Chiefs quarterback in the dust—and completely out of the frame of the video at one point.
We're really sorry about this one, @PatrickMahomes 😭 @XavierWorthy

Mahomes, in an amusing post on X the day before the combine began, asked the NFL to not post overlays of his 4.80-second 40-yard dash time from the 2017 combine with those of ’24 prospects.
So naturally, the NFL jumped at the opportunity after Worthy posted the fastest time ever. It seems as if this is quickly becoming a combine tradition, whether Mahomes likes it or not.
