Former NFL player and two-time Super Bowl champion Terrell Suggs was arrested in Arizona following an incident at a Starbucks drive-thru in Scottsdale last month. The 41-year-old was booked into the Maricopa County jail on charges of assault and offenses against public order.
According to reports, the altercation occurred on March 10 when Suggs, while in line to order coffee, had to reverse his vehicle after passing the ordering speaker and accidentally backing into another car. Despite no damage, a verbal dispute ensued between Suggs and the other driver, culminating in Suggs allegedly making threats and displaying a gun out the window.
Suggs, in a statement released through his management group, claimed that he felt threatened by the other driver's actions and was concerned for his safety and that of his family. He stated that he was not seeking trouble and was merely getting coffee when the situation escalated.
Law enforcement identified Suggs through video surveillance footage, leading to his arrest. He was released the following morning and is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.
Suggs, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and former defensive player of the year, played for the Baltimore Ravens from 2003 to 2018 before joining the Kansas City Chiefs and winning his second Super Bowl in 2020.
