NFL's bold new partnership will change the way fans watch football

Virtual reality has forever changed how humans interact with the environment. It merges technology and real life to simulate an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience that allows humans to be in multiple different places without having to move locations.

Technology companies have benefited from these innovative advances by tapping into people's interests and profiting from their curiosity by developing unique immersive experiences.

Everyone has a hobby or favorite pastime, whether video games, retail therapy, or traveling; the money spent to satisfy these interests is always considered an investment in one's happiness.

The National Football League (NFL) is a great example of a business whose growth has been fueled by people's interest.

It has turned fans' love for football into a true gold mine worth $163 billion, with an estimated annual revenue of over $20 billion, making it the world's most lucrative sports league.

In addition to hosting hundreds of football games a year, including the Super Bowl, the NFL also hosts community events like meet-and-greets, fan zone watch parties, and much more, generating extra revenue for the already multi-billion dollar business.

The NFL has dabbled in immersive technology in the last few years, especially during its Super Bowl performances, so when an immersive technology company approached the league with a proposal, the NFL couldn't resist.

Cosm brings immersive experiences to sports fans in one place

Cosm is an immersive entertainment, media, and technology company that hosts various experiences, including live sports broadcasting events, to redefine and bring the excitement of live content to viewers through "shared reality."

For sports fans who cannot physically travel to every match to support their favorite teams, Cosm created a dome with giant LED screens to make fans feel like they are sitting in the front row at the game.

Cosm wants to redefine experiences and encourage people to share them with others; this is why the Dome is designed to accommodate around 700 people and aims to mimic the feeling of being at a real sporting event with a more luxurious flair by offering comfortable seating and virtual ordering for food and drinks.

Tickets sell for around $22 to $127 per event with reserved and first-come-first-serve seating options.

Currently, Cosm only has locations in Los Angeles and Dallas, but the company plans to expand and open a new location in Atlanta, with even more planned.

Cosm lands a broadcasting rights deal with the NFL

On Monday, Cosm announced it had signed a broadcasting rights deal with the NFL to play live football games at its venues for the entirety of the 2024 regular season.

However, this is not the first sports deal that Cosm has landed; the company also has deals with the UFC, NBA, and other sports broadcasters, including Fox Sports, ESPN, NBC Sports, and TNT Sports.

Neither party has disclosed the deal's financial details.
