The Sydney Thunder have taken a leaf out of the San Francisco 49ers' book on their rise from Big Bash League wooden spooners to the tournament's final four.

When former Test player-turned-general manager Trent Copeland arrived at the Thunder following a dismal 2023/24 summer, he found a team in need of some roster changes.
