NFL rookie Will Levis compared to Aaron Rodgers already as training footage emerges

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis is already impressing after his first few practice sessions with the team, being compared to one of the greatest of all-time.

Seen as one of the most talented players in last month's NFL Draft, Levis' slide out of the first-round was by far the biggest shock of the night. The Kentucky quarterback had been seen as a consensus top five pick and was being heavily projected to be taken by the Indianapolis Colts with the fourth pick.

However, the Colts passed on him at first, instead taking Anthony Richardson - which begun his slip all the way out of the first-round. With the second pick of the second round, the Titans traded up to draft Levis - an ideal landing spot for the young passer with starter Ryan Tannehill in his last year of his contract with the team not seemingly looking to extend him.

Throughout the draft process, Levis had been compared to Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers, due to his large frame and ability to make plays on the run. And in his first few practice sessions with the team, Levis is already showing teams what they missed out on with a number of impressive throws.

What impressed scouts most about Levis was his incredibly quick release when he threw - looking eerily similar to Rodgers, as fans have noted. One said: "Not going to lie... some of these throws are Rodgers-esque," as another said: "Oh man, he's going to be good isn't he. He's the most like Rodgers that I've ever seen."

And it appears Levis is quickly winning Titan fans over, with the comments under the team's Twitter pages raving about him. One fan tweeted: "He will be a week 1 starter. He will obviously be behind to start camp/preseason but will win the job," and another said: "Give him some QB1 reps in the off-season. He can beat out Tannehill."

Heading into the 2021 off-season, Levis was seen as the best quarterback available in the draft, but chose to return for his senior season with Kentucky. In 2021, he had performed as one of the best quarterbacks throughout the NCAA, doing so in a pro-style offense being coached under Los Angeles Rams playcaller Liam Coen.

But he might have made a mistake in returning for his senior year, with the Kentucky team losing much of it's best players after being drafted to the NFL, which hugely affected Levis' play in 2022.

And while he did have his struggles in 2022, he remained as one of the more talented prospects heading into the draft - before shockingly falling out of the first round.
