Fresh off an embarrassing loss to the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs came out seeking a statement win over the Miami Dolphins. On an international stage in Frankfurt, that’s exactly what the Chiefs did on Sunday.
The Dolphins’ high-powered offense looked flustered early in the game, and the Chiefs took advantage by jumping out to a 21-0 lead.
But the Dolphins found a way to fight back in it with their defense somehow holding otherworldly quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense scoreless in the second half.
And it still wasn’t enough.
The Chiefs held on for a 21-14 lead to solidify themselves as the No. 2-ranked team behind the Philadelphia Eagles this season.
Another team that has quietly been climbing the ranks has been the Cincinnati Bengals. Now that Joe Burrow is healthier, the Bengals went from being a colossal disappointment to a legitimate Super Bowl contender. They have scored 24-plus points in back-to-back wins over the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.
