There are few things in sports more subjective than ranking all-time great players. It’s a thankless task that is sure to alienate huge numbers of fans. The latest such exercise by the NFL Network has put the Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase on notice with their raking of the greatest Super Bowl quarterbacks of all time and leaving both Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger out of the Top 10.
The author, Gregg Rosenthal uses the idea of ranking every quarterback who has played in a Super Bowl but based it on their careers and not only their performance in said Super Bowls. A curious metric to say the least.
Roethlisberger checks in at No. 15 and Bradshaw is two spots below him at No. 17. This alone might be enough to send many Steelers fans into a rage by putting Bradshaw behind Roethlisberger but having Bradshaw and his four Super Bowl championships behind guys who have never won one will only make things worse.
