The off-season is now in full swing, and although action may have paused on the field, NFL teams continue to scrap away from it.
Big contract extensions may already have been flying around, but the likes of Lamar Jackson and Geno Smith could be heading for free agency, while former Las Vegas Raiders star Derek Carr has already been released. The free agency market can be a goldmine for NFL teams, and make all the difference.
With the off-season just beginning, there are some huge deals expected to take place before the start of the 2023 campaign. As we enter the early stages, here Mirror NFL bring you the latest rumours and completed deals from around the league.
Derek Carr visits New York Jets
Carr is visiting the New York Jets this weekend, with the franchise looking to sign a 'veteran quarterback' this off-season. Carr has already visited the New Orleans Saints, but this is his first meeting since becoming a free agent.
It became apparent that Carr would not be negotiated as part of any trade deal after the Raiders confirmed they would be moving on their quarterback, leading to his eventual release. Jets head coach Robert Saleh is keen on signing a veteran, in the hopes they will mentor long-term option Zach Wilson.
Carr will be taking time over his next move and will want to evaluate all options before pledging his allegiance to a new side. But the Jets could be a good fit for him, and they're keen to wrap a deal up quickly.

Buffalo Bills sign Kansas City Chiefs safety Zayne Anderson
The Buffalo Bills have signed safety Zayne Anderson from AFC rivals Kansas City Chiefs, with the 26-year-old penning a two-year deal. Anderson spent the past two seasons with the Chiefs, appearing in seven regular-season games and three postseason matches.
Anderson arrived as an undrafted talent in 2021 and has managed to scoop a Super Bowl ring after the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Arizona this season. Anderson has spent the majority of his time in the Chiefs practice squad but enjoyed a successful college career.
There's hope that Anderson can blossom at the Bills, and they needed a new safety due as Damar Hamlin's return status is unknown. Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest last season and is making a speedy recovery.
Minnesota Vikings make their first signings for 2023
The Minnesota Vikings have made their first moves of the 2023 off-season, re-signing their two exclusive rights free agents. Defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga and offensive tackle Blake Brandel have been re-signed, deals that were always expected.
Tonga was signed from the Atlanta Falcons practice squad in October and worked his way into the Vikings line-up last season. He became a solid part of their defence rotation and has finally found a home.
Brandel has been with the Vikings since being drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He too worked his way into the side after being in the practice squad and is a welcome addition to their ranks.
