Ryan Clark spent a majority of his career playing for the Steelers and it appears he let his fandom show just a bit—to put it lightly—on Tuesday and NFL fans let him have it when he made a bold comparison.
While appearing on ESPN’s NFL Live, the former defensive back went as far as to say that Pittsburgh wide receiver George Pickens is more talented than Justin Jefferson. Yes, the same Jefferson who has been named All-Pro in his first three NFL seasons.
“George Pickens is much more talented than Justin Jefferson,” Clark said.
He went on to praise Jefferson for his understanding of the game, but he made the case that Pickens is thriving more than ever in a Steelers organization that is “raising” him—something that Clark believes Georgia did not do.
Pickens, who was selected in the second round of the 2022 draft out of Georgia, is coming off his rookie season where he tallied 52 catches for 801 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jefferson racked up 128 catches for 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns.
It’s a hard case for Clark to make since the Vikings star doubled Pickens’s numbers.
Here are some of the best reactions to Clark’s hot take:
