Retired judge Sue L. Robinson handed down a ruling on how long Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson would be suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy: Six games.
That’s not even half the season, a shock given that 24 women accused him of sexual misconduct, and almost all of the civil cases have reportedly been settled.
It’s worth noting, per USA TODAY Sports: “The collective bargaining agreement allows the NFL to appeal if it disagrees with Robinson’s decision. NFL commissioner Goodell or an official of his choosing would handle that appeal decision.”
So it’s possible he gets a longer suspension beyond. But NFL fans everywhere couldn’t believe how short this suspension was as of Monday morning:
