The Arizona Cardinals face the Seattle Seahawks in their season finale at home. They enter the week 4-12 and hold the fourth overall pick in the 2024 draft.
Since the Cardinals will not play in the postseason and have been eliminated for a few weeks, fans have their eye on the draft and where they might select.
They have two first-round picks — their own and also the first-round pick of the Houston Texans.
The Texans’ pick, because they made the playoffs, has not yet been determined, but will be no higher than 19th overall.
The Cardinals’ selection can be as high as the No. 2 overall pick and as low as the seventh pick.
Below are the scenarios that would have to play out for the Cardinals to finish with each pick.
No. 2 overall
For the Cardinals to finish with the second pick in the draft, the following would need to happen:
- The Cardinals lose to the Seahawks
- The Patriots beat the Jets
- The Commanders beat the Cowboys
No. 3 overall
The Cardinals will finish with the third overall pick in the draft if the following happens:
- The Cardinals beat the Seahawks
- The Patriots beat the Jets or the Commanders beat the Cowboys
No. 4 overall
The Cardinals will finish with the fourth overall pick in the draft if the following happens.
- The Cardinals, Patriots and Commanders lose OR
- The Cardinals win and the Giants (facing the Eagles), the Chargers (facing the Broncos) and Titans (facing the Jaguars) all win
No. 5 overall
The Cardinals will finish with the fifth overall pick of the draft if the following happens.
- The Cardinals win
- Of the Giants, Chargers and Titans, two of them win their games
No. 6 overall
The Cardinals will finish with the sixth pick in the draft if these two scenarios happen:
- The Cardinals win
- Of the Giants, Chargers and Titans, only one team wins
No. 7 overall
The worst pick the Cardinals will have is the seventh overall. That will happen only if the following happens:
- The Cardinals beat the Seahawks and the Giants, Chargers and Titans all lose.
