So, you’ve already spent up for Patrick Mahomes, Mark Andrews and Bijan Robinson for your Week 5 DFS lineup.
What now?
We’ve already given you some suggestions for a winning Week 5 DFS lineup. Here are some players to consider for salary relief to stack up with your studs.
Quarterbacks
Zach Wilson, JetsHear me out here. Wilson should be riding high after nearly upsetting the Chiefs. He passed for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns with a 72% completion rate. He also threw in another 14 yards on the ground. Here are the two things Wilson has going for him this weekend: He’s got four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers in his ear, and he’s facing the Broncos. No team has allowed more yards this season than Denver, which has surrendered more than 461 yard per game.
Matthew Stafford, RamsThe Eagles have allowed the fifth-most passing yards this season (1,116) and nine passing touchdowns. Stafford has thrown for the second-most yards in the NFL this season (1,229). Plus, he could get Cooper Kupp back. Enough said.
Running Backs
Tyler Allgeier, FalconsAllgeier has averaged just 28% of the snaps with 8.5 touches and 20.5 total yards across the past two weeks. That helps keep his salary low. The matchup with the Texans is favorable, and we could see Allgeier return to his Week 1-2 workload if the Falcons are going to win this game.
Gus Edwards, RavensEdwards will likely lead the backfield for the Ravens vs. a Pittsburgh defense that has allowed the second-most rushing yards this season to the position. Justice Hill is also an option, but Edwards is the likely goal-line back.
Jaleel McLaughlin, BroncosIf Javonte Williams remains out, McLaughlin could be chalk, but that’s O.K. The undrafted rookie free agent had 104 all-purpose yards and a score last week after Williams left the game. Samaje Perine is also an option as the likely goal-line back vs. a Jets defense that has been the 12th-best DFS matchup for runners.
Wide Receivers
Michael Wilson, CardinalsThe Bengals defense has struggled to defend the pass, and last week we saw this rookie from Stanford break out. He caught all seven of his targets for 76 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. The previous week, he caught both of his targets for 86 yards. Now he has the second-most yards per route run this year among rookies (2.30 yards per route run) behind only Puka Nacua.
Zay Flowers, RavensThe Steelers secondary has allowed the fourth-most receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns to wideouts this season. Flowers is commanding a 28% target share and owns a 31% air yards share for the Ravens.
Tight Ends
Zach Ertz, CardinalsThe Bengals rank 28th vs. tight ends and have already allowed three touchdowns to the position. Meanwhile, Ertz is averaging more than seven targets per game this season for the surprisingly frisky Cardinals.
Hayden Hurst, PanthersNo team has allowed more receiving yards to the tight end position (303) than the Lions. Hurst is running a route on 70% of his snaps and he’s caught one of Bryce Young’s four touchdown passes. It’s a dart.
