With three weeks left in the NFL regular season, the big storyline for the Pittsburgh Steelers is whether or not head coach Mike Tomlin will still be employed in the new year. It’s been a miserable season despite the 7-7 record and fans are screaming for changes.
By changes, we mean firing head coach Mike Tomlin.
But ESPN NFL analyst and long-suffering New York Jets fan Mike Greenberg warns the Steelers and their fans to wish too hard for Tomlin to be gone when they consider what the alternative could be.
“The Mike Tomlin thing Look, I hear you Pittsburgh. Just be careful what you wish for. You wanna get on that hamster wheel of other coaches? Trust me, it’s not so pretty on the other side.”
Consistency has been a hallmark of the Steelers for more than 50 years with only three head coaches during that span. Does that mindset fit in the modern NFL or will Pittsburgh need to make a move in the offseason?
