It’s rather strange knowing that Paris St Germain are ready to move on without Brazil’s star player, Neymar. For years now he has been a catalyst for PSG’s success as well as a pivotal figure in their run to the Champions League final in 2020. For one reason or the other, Neymar and his father have been told that their number 10 will not be in PSG’s plans for next season.
To top the mind-blowing decision, according to El Pais, the club have also agreed to contribute to his rather hefty wages if the next club he goes to cannot afford him. It would be an abnormal way to go about his departure but that only gives Chelsea an opportunity here.
Negotiations between the club and Ousmane Dembele seem to have quietened down. Barcelona are still keen on keeping the Frenchman having thrown another contract offer at him. Chelsea have made their interest known loud and clear, yet the two parties have not come to an agreement. The Blues cannot keep fans waiting for a marquee signing that may not even happen. They could however jump on the Neymar train.
Neymar had some of his best statistical years under Thomas Tuchel. In his first season with the German, he managed 23 goals and 13 assists in 28 matches. The second season produced similar numbers in a year that he was central to PSG’s Champions League run. There’s no question that the pair work well together.

Looking away from the obvious talents that he possesses on and off the pitch, he shared a positive relationship with Tuchel. Discussing their relationship back in 2019 to Canal+, Neymar said: "It's a friendship but, at the same time, huge mutual respect. I respect him as a coach, but when we need to talk, we talk.
"I've developed a great affection towards him since the first time we spoke. When you have this great affection for your coach, you give your life on the pitch. For him, I will do my best to win."
It is written in the stars for Todd Boehly and Chelsea. The Blues had a chance to sign Neymar back in 2013 but negotiations fell through with the help of Barcelona. This is the transfer that 'could have been' and the signing that got away. If you are reading this, wondering when Chelsea can find a player just as good, if not better than Ousmane Dembele, then maybe you should consider Neymar Jr.
