Speculation surrounding Antonio Conte’s immediate future ramped up even further after the Italian’s extraordinary post-match rant on Saturday evening with reports suggesting he is set to leave the club in the coming days. The Spurs boss took aim at every aspect of the club during a 10-minute-long blistering monologue at St Mary's, as he gave a damning assessment of the Tottenham culture.
Although his contract expires this summer, Saturday’s remarkable outburst may leave Daniel Levy no choice but to relieve the head coach of his duties before the season reaches its conclusion. The rant came after Conte witnessed his side throw away a 3-1 advantage to draw 3-3 against the Premier League’s bottom side Southampton.
Pressure had already begun to ramp up on the Spurs manager after his side were dumped out of the Champions League and FA Cup this month. Following lacklustre defeats in both competitions, the club’s barren trophyless run, which stretches back to 2008, has been extended by another season.

Spurs’ draw at St Mary’s was their last match for two weeks as club football takes a backseat during the final international break of the season. This could prove an ideal opportunity for Daniel Levy to prematurely pull the plug on Conte’s Tottenham tenure.
And according to the Telegraph, Conte is set to leave the club in the coming days - and current first-team coach Ryan Mason could take over until the end of the season on an interim basis - as he did when Jose Mourinho was sacked as head-coach in 2021.
Numerous names have been thrown into the mix to be the next man to land themselves in the north London hot seat. Chief among those has been former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who guided the club to the Champions League final in 2019.
According to Skybet, Mason is the favourite to be the next permanent manager at Spurs at 1/10 - though that is coloured by the likelihood of him taking over on an interim basis.
Pochettino, meanwhile, is among the favourites to take over from Conte, at a price of 5/1, after his name was sung loudly by some sections of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful following their Champions League exit to AC Milan earlier this month.
Eintracht Frankfurt's Austrian coach Oliver Glasner is perhaps a surprise name in at third favourite at a price of 8/1, but the manager does have European pedigree after guiding his side to the 2021/22 Europa League title.
Luis Enrique is another name in the frame having most recently resigned as Spain manager after the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The Spaniard achieved an historic treble with Barcelona in 2015, claiming the ultimate crown in the Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey, and had also been linked with the Chelsea job amid pressure on Graham Potter. He is ranked at 14/1 to take over at Spurs.
Two managers enjoying excellent campaigns with their respective clubs are priced at 16/1 in the form of Marco Silva and Vincent Kompany. Silva currently has newly-promoted Fulham competing well in the top-half of the Premier League while Kompany's Burnley side are romping to the Championship title, and they are joined at that price by former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi and Brentford’s Thomas Frank are also on the list, as well as Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. Pundit Jamie Carragher previously claimed Levy should target De Zerbi, explaining: “When you see the impact of Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton, there are obvious echoes of Pochettino at Southampton: a young, hungry coach making an instant impact with an exciting brand of football.”
Here are 10 managers tipped to become Spurs boss if Conte does leave, according to Skybet:
Ryan Mason - 1/10
Mauricio Pochettino - 5/1
Oliver Glasner - 9/1
Luis Enrique - 14/1
Marco Silva - 16/1
Thomas Tuchel - 16/1
Vincent Kompany - 16/1
Ange Postecoglou - 18/1
Thomas Frank - 20/1
Roberto De Zerbi - 20/1
