Sean Dyche is the bookies favourite to replace Alex Neil at Sunderland following a turbulent day of unrest of Wearside.
The Black Cats have had their season thrown up in the air by the news Neil looks set to take the vacant Stoke City job after the Potters sacked Michael O'Neil.
With Neil set to depart the Stadium of Light, it leaves Sunderland managerless for their Saturday lunchtime clash against Norwich City.
While they tried their best to keep ahold of Neil, ChronicleLive understands Neil will take the Stoke job, leaving Sunderland looking for a new manager to replace the Scotsman who guided them back to the Championship.

And there are plenty of big names in the mix too.
Sean Dyche has been installed as bookies BetVictor's favourite at 4/1 at the time of writing, while former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given odds of 10/1.
Dyche has been out of work since his sacking by Burnley last season and would certainly be an excellent appointment for the Black Cats to make.
Two standout names from the bookies include Roy Keane and Sam Allardyce, who have both previously managed the Black Cats.
Keane and Allardyce are given odds of 12/1 and 14/1 respectively, while former West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has been given odds of 14/1 to become Sunderland's next manager.
However, what is certain is that the Black Cats must act quickly to install Neil's replacement. With the new Championship season still in its infancy, getting a new manager in as quickly as possible would allow for Sunderland to mitigate the departure of Neil, and allow them to focus on staying up this term.
