Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is the favourite to replace Nathan Jones at Southampton.
Jones was sacked by Southampton on Sunday morning. The 49-year-old leaves with the Saints bottom of the table after Saturday's loss to 10-men Wolves.
The Welshman lost nine of the 14 matches he oversaw in all competitions following his appointment on 10 November. That record included eight defeats in nine Premier League games.

“Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men’s First Team Manager Nathan Jones,” a club statement released on Sunday read.
And in odds released by Sky Bet, Gerrard, priced at 5/1, is the favourite to replace Jones at St Mary's. Marcelo Gallardo is second favourite priced at 6/1.
Former Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch is third favourite priced at 8/1, while Mauricio Pochettino and Arne Slot, priced at 9/1 and 10/1 respectively, make up the top five names in the betting.
Gerrard has been out of work since being sacked by Aston Villa earlier this season. He was sacked back in October after just 11 months in charge of the Villa Park club.
The former England international’s sacking was announced immediately after his side suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage - Villa's sixth defeat in just 11 Premier League games at the time.
Gerrard has also been linked with replacing Marsch at Leeds United. The Elland Road club sacked the American earlier this month.
