Newtownabbey 'factory of the future' given planning approval

Plans for a new state-of-the-art 'factory of the future' in Co Antrim have been given the green light.

The £100m Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) at Global Point, Newtownabbey will be the first of its kind in Northern Ireland and is being developed jointly by Queen's University Belfast, Ulster University and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council as part of the Belfast Region City Deal.

The site will provide access to the very latest manufacturing technology and industry 4.0 smart automation.
