Newsnight moves Friday programme to new 7pm slot with host Matt Chorley

A major schedule change is coming to the BBC’s flagship news and current affairs programme, Newsnight, which currently broadcasts on weekdays at the 10:30 pm time slot on BBC Two.

Starting this Friday, September 18, the Friday night edition will move to a brand new 7pm evening slot. Matt Chorley, who first joined the show's broadcasting team in 2025, will present each Friday evening.
