LET"S go wild for Alan King at Taunton on Monday as his CALL OF THE WILD (1.25, nap) is fancied to land the Summerfield Developments Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.
King’s (below) six-year-old won his bumper start before winning twice and being placed three times over hurdles — the latest a decent third on his return at Ascot in October behind Highway One O Two.
On his Chase debut at Doncaster last month, in a limited handicap, he was in touch with the leaders when unseating today’s rider Tom Cannon at the fourth fence, but the son of Fame And Glory can make amends this afternoon.
My selection has the scope to take this and go on to better things.
At Wolverhampton, PESSOA (5.30, nb) can land the Spreadex Sports Best Odds On Sunderland Apprentice Handicap on his first run for Adrian Wintle.
The four-year-old got off the mark when taking a 11-runner handicap over course and distance last month under the care of John Joseph Murphy.
There he overcome a bad draw and a slow start under Finley Marsh to lead late on and beat Swiss Rowe by one and a half lengths.
He should be able to follow up despite a 5lb rise in the weights.
