THE progressive PERFECT GENTLEMAN (8.30, nap) can be the prize guy in the Bet At racingtv.com Handicap at Kempton on Wednesday evening.
The three-year-old, trained by George Scott, made a winning handicap debut over a mile at this course over a fortnight ago.
In a strongly-run race, he was held up near the back before making his move under today’s rider Daniel Muscutt (left) two furlongs from home.
He then powered home to beat Greavsie by three-quarters of a length.
Scott has moved him significantly up in trip by another half a mile and this is expected to bring the best out of this lightly-raced colt.
Earlier on the card, course winner SPIRIT OF NGURU (8.00, nb) is fancied to land the Try Our New Price Boosts At Unibet Handicap.
Last time out, the William Haggas-trained gelding finished second of nine in a 7f handicap at Southwell.
Racing prominently, he was pushed along from two furlongs out but could not catch the leader Tiger Crusade, going down by a length.
With blinkers and a tongue strap on for the first time, and down in trip to six furlongs, the four-year-old could take all the beating.
