Stenton Glider (6.00, nap) can confirm the rich promise of her first time out victory by landing the first division of the 1m novice stakes at Kempton.
She sprang an upset in September when she downed the Sir Michael Stoute-trained odds-on favourite Prepense, who had finished second to 1,000 Guineas favourite Commissioning on her previous start.
Despite running very green at Chester, the Hugo Palmer-trained filly pulled two and a half lengths clear of her rival. On the day her trainer was considering running her in a Listed contest next time out.
But he also said she was a big filly who may need time which he has given her as she returns from a 74-day lay off. That patience can be rewarded as she teams up with James Doyle.
Stenton Glider’s main opponent Tyndrum Gold claimed a course and distance victory 35 days, a race in which there were a few eyecatchers.
One of those was ANISETTE (6.30, nb) who was running on under hands and heels riding to claim fourth spot.
The Kevin Phillipart de Foy-trained filly came from a fair way back to finish just three lengths off the winner and looks capable of getting off the mark at the second attempt.
