Trainer Stuart Williams looks set to Lord it over his rivals in the Racing Welfare Handicap (7.00) at Chelmsford.
Williams has high hopes for the chances of LORD RAPSCALLION over the seven-furlong trip. The six-year-old showed improved form on his Polytrack debut to land a 14-runner handicap over the course and distance at the beginning of this month when keeping on well under today's rider, Jason Hart, to fend off Granary Queen by a short head.
Raised just 4lb for that victory, he still looks well treated and should take all the beating in a field of just of six.
The Phil McEntee-trained ALAFDHAL is fancied to continue his love affair with Chelmsford by completing my Daily Double in the next race - Support The Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap (7.30) - over six furlongs.
The four-year-old son of Lope De Vega has won three times over the course and distance in his last four starts. The most recent was 11 days ago when he held on gamely to beat one of today's rivals, Araifjan, by a nose. My selection also won a week earlier when beating Admirable Lad by a length-and-three-quarters so remains in good form and can confirm the placings under Kevin Stott.
