TREVELYN’S CORN gets the Nap vote to spring back to winning form in the Watch Racing TV In Stunning HD Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase (2.05) at Wetherby.
Well beaten on his first three starts for Micky Hammond last season, the former Paul Nicholls trainee ran with credit on his final two outings of the campaign with second placings behind Into Overdrive at Carlisle and Hexham.
The winner is progressive horse – Into Overdrive was competing from a BHA mark of 118 on the latter occasion but is now rated 29lbs higher.
Trevelyn’s Corn hasn’t shone in three attempts over three miles this term but hinted at a return to form back at Carlisle last month, finishing fifth to Who’s In The Box despite tiring in the closing stages.
The step back in trip and drying ground should help Emma Smith-Chaston’s mount, who can take advantage of the assessor’s clemency for a first win over fences.
At Wolverhampton, a quick return to action should pay dividends for JOHNNY BOOM in the Top Odds Every Day With BetUK Handicap (7.30).
David Probert’s mount looked the winner of a similar event a week ago before being swamped by First Charge, but should go one better here.
