GATWICK KITTEN (5.30) is expected to fly home in the Spreadex Sports First Goalscorer Insurance Classified Stakes at Wolverhampton.
The six-year-old was unlucky three weeks ago in his first outing for the Ed Dunlop yard. Ridden up the inside rail by Oisin Murphy in a six-furlong Lingfield handicap, he was squeezed for room in the closing stages, and was forced to ease up.
That was his first run since October, and with Murphy back in the saddle at Dunstall Park and running over an extra furlong, he can score a first win on the all-weather.
An hour later MICK SAID NO (6.30) should be the answer in the BetUK''s Acca Club £5 Free Bet Restricted Novice Stakes over six furlongs.
The Michael Attwater-trained three-year-old put in a solid performance in his second outing, when a two-length second to Bill Plumb over course and distance 24 days ago. He ran a bit green, but finished strongly in the closing stages, and is sure to come on for the run.
He will start a lot shorter than the 100-1 odds he was that day. His main danger will certainly be Woolhampton , trained by Rod Millman, who was third in the listed St Hugh’s Stakes at Newbury in August, but never produced anything like that form after that.
