Newport Bus has announced major changes to its timetable, including reintroducing some Sunday services. From Sunday, April 24, the operator will be introducing two new services as well as making changes to current routes.
The two new routes are the 9 A/C service to Spytty Retail Park and the number 5, which will travel to the Gwent Europark on the A4810, home to the Tesco and Wilko distribution centres. A new hourly Sunday service on the 15/16 bus will be resumed, bringing timetabled Sunday buses back to Bettws. But Newport Bus says it will have to “rationalise” other routes, including school services, to add these two new buses.
The fflecsi service, a bus that has to be booked in advance but can pick passengers up from near to their location and varies its route based on who has booked at the same time, will continue – and Newport Bus hopes that the two new timetabled services will improve fflecsi availability.
