Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has made an early decision on Elliot Anderson in the January window - by insisting the playmaker will be staying at St James' Park.
The Anderson news will disappoint sides such as Luton Town, Birmingham City and Preston North End who have all taken a close look at the youngster. But Howe is hoping to give him game-time at United.
When asked about Anderson's chances of leaving the club on loan, Howe said: "He's very valued by us. "He's had a number of niggles over the last couple of months which have prevented him being involved more.

"He's got a valuable role to play with us between now and the end season - we certainly won't be loaning him anywhere."
Preston boss Ryan Lowe admitted at his Press conference that he had watched Anderson. Lowe said: "I went up to watch him at Carlisle last season, one Saturday afternoon, and then I watched him again somewhere.
"We have spoken about what type of player we need and he is certainly not that is he? "He is a fantastic player and has fantastic ability, but at this moment in time he’s not our number one priority."
Anderson is yet to start a Premier League game but has been used in the League Cup. The Academy product will come into contention against Sheff Wed in the FA Cup.
The Owls were another side desperate to sign the young Geordie back in the summer.
