Here is your Newcastle United transfer round-up for Thursday, August 11.
'Pole position' for Ndombele
Jonjo Shelvey's latest injury setback could lead Eddie Howe to mull over a transfer rethink. Elliot Anderson is expected to stay at St James' Park and fight for a central-midfield spot, but the head coach may wish to add another option to the squad.
One surprise name to emerge is that of Tanguy Ndombele, with Antonio Conte said to be keen to offload the former club-record signing. The French midfielder has failed to impress in North London, and a loan return to former club Lyon last season did not help the 25-year-old recapture his best form.

French outlet MediaFoot claim Newcastle are keen to sign a midfielder before the end of the window, and are now in 'pole position' for Ndombele. Villarreal are also credited with an interest, with Tottenham said to be demanding around £42 million.
Adams link
United have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to land an alternative to Callum Wilson so far. Dwight Gayle's departure to Stoke City leaves Howe with his number nine and Chris Wood as his only two central options.
Che Adams is now the latest name linked, with the Scotland international previously believed to have been made available for transfer by Southampton. The forward has two years left on his contract and is no longer first-choice at St Mary's.
However, talkSPORT now claim the Saints have had a change of heart and will rebuff any approaches. Leed United had long been linked, with Everton, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are also said to have made Adams a 'target'.#
