A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Friday, April 14.
Newcastle United to revive Hugo Ekitike interest
Reports in France claim Newcastle United will 'be active' in their pursuit to sign Hugo Ekitike this summer. The young French forward was top of their transfer list last January and indeed in the summer, but the youngster chose PSG in a frustrating transfer saga for the Magpies.
L’Equipe claims Newcastle will try to sign the young striker again this summer, with PSG looking to offload Ekitike after just one season at the club. The forward has four goals and three assists in 27 appearances for PSG this season, with his loan deal set to become a permanent one this summer.
Ekitike previously turned down the Magpies on two occasions, opting to stay with Reims in January last season, before choosing PSG last summer. Reports from Le Parisien claim the reigning French champions will sign Ekitike on a permanent basis, before offloading him elsewhere in the summer.
L’Equipe have since spoken to a ‘European recruiter’ who said ‘the loan with option to buy would be best for PSG’, allowing the Ligue 1 side to pull the plug on any transfer if he were to impress on a spell away from the club.

Newcastle 'confirm interest in Gabri Veiga'
According to Atlántico, Newcastle are one of a number of Europe's top clubs to have ‘confirmed their interest’ in 20-year-old Gabri Veiga. The young midfielder has scored nine goals and registered four assists for Celta Vigo from 26 league games this season, with a number of Europe's top clubs taking note.
The Spaniard has a €40m release clause with his current club insisting they won't negotiate a lower fee. Last month, AS claimed Newcastle would be ‘securing the bargain of the summer’ if they splashed the cash on the young midfielder.
The recent report claims seven clubs have made contact either with the player himself, or Celta Vigo. Newcastle, Napoli, AC Milan and four English clubs are said to be interested.
