Here's your Newcastle United transfer round-up for Wednesday, August 24.
Everton join race for Joao Pedro
Everton have reportedly joined Newcastle in the race to sign Watford forward Joao Pedro.
According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, the Toffees are preparing to match Newcastle's offer for the Brazilian. It is understood that Everton haven't yet made an official offer for Pedro, but they have inquired about his availability.
Sky Sports have reported that Newcastle have made a second bid for the 20-year-old. The offer is believed to be in the region of £30 million including add-ons - significantly more than the £17.5 million bid that was put on the table last week.

Newcastle preparing big-money move for Kone
Newcastle are preparing a bid for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Kone, according to L'Equipe.
The report claims that the Magpies are set to submit an offer in excess of £29.5 million for the 21-year-old. Monchengladbach have no intentions of selling Kone this summer and they regard the France under-21s international as an invaluable first-team asset.
Kone, who signed for the Bundesliga side last January, played 27 games last season, scoring two goals and claiming one assist.
Leeds slap £35 million price tag on Harrison
Leeds United have reportedly put a price tag of £35 million on Newcastle target Jack Harrison. According to Football Insider, Leeds would be willing to sell Harrison if that figure is met.
It's believed that Newcastle have made two bids for the 25-year-old this summer, but both have been rejected. According to the report, Newcastle have 'stepped' up their interest in the winger in recent days and are now weighing up an improved offer.
Harrison has started the Premier League season in impressive fashion for Leeds. He has grabbed an assist in all three of the Whites' games so far, and scored in the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday.
