A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Wednesday, April 5.
Newcastle United 'send scouts' to Benfica amid Goncalo Ramos links
Newcastle United have reportedly sent scouts to Benfica amid the ongoing speculation regarding a potential summer transfer for Goncalo Ramos.
Football Transfers report that Newcastle sent scouts to watch Benfica beat Rio Ave 1-0 on the weekend. Ramos scored the winning goal moments after half-time as the club's representatives no doubt would have passed on a glowing review to Eddie Howe back at Tyneside.

Ramos has quickly become one of the most in-demand attackers this season following his World Cup heroics having scored a hat-trick for Portugal in Qatar. Manchester United and Real Madrid are also thought to be eyeing up a move for him with Sunday's opponents also believed to have sent scouts to monitor his progress.
A Champions League place next term, combined with the club's financial capabilities, would surely see St James' Park become an attractive option for Ramos - regardless of the interest of the rest of Europe's elite.
Joao Pedro set for summer move
Elsewhere, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Watford star Joao Pedro is set to leave the Championship club this summer.
Newcastle were heavily linked with a move for the Hornets man in the last summer transfer window and now Romano is claiming that he is 'prepared' to make a move either to the Premier League or Serie A. He states that a number of clubs are already exploring potential deals for the forward and that his future will be sorted within the next few months.
Watford are currently six points adrift of the play-off places and should they fail to achieve promotion this term, you would expect the 21-year-old to be snapped up by those in the division above - with Newcastle likely keeping tabs on his situation.
