Newcastle target set to become free agent
According to German website Kicker, via Sport Witness, Newcastle United could go in for Austrian midfielder Florian Grillitsch this summer.
Grillitsch currently plays for Hoffenheim and rumours about Newcastle's interest have surfaced before, but the German website provided an update that he has still not extended his contract, which is due to expire in summer.
Sport Witness writes: "While other players at Hoffenheim are extending their contracts, Grillitsch is yet to do so, and there are no signs that he will."
The signs are that he will leave on a free transfer, with clubs from England and Italy "courting" the player, with Arsenal and Newcastle both namechecked in the article, along with Roma and Napoli.
