Newcastle hold talks with 'Brazilian Busquets'

Newcastle United have held talks with Vasco de Gama midfielder Andrey Santos, according to the i. The 18-year-old midfielder ahs been dubbed the 'Brazilian Busquets' and has reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona.

The 5ft9 youth international has made 33 appearances and scored seven goals since breaking into the first team. An impressive haul for a youngster valued in the region of £30million.

The report claims Newcastle see the youngster as someone who will help bring 'long term success' to Tyneside. Reports first surfaced linking the Brazilian to Newcastle in the summer and it appears as though the Magpies are stepping up their pursuit.

Newcastle United set to ignite interest in Porto forward

Sportwitness claims Newcastle United will reignite their interest in Porto sensation Pepe in January. It claims that the Magpies had a €35million bid knocked back by the Portuguese outfit in the summer.

Porto were reportedly 'well aware of the interest and moved quickly after the summer to hand him a new contract until 2027 ' raising his release clause to €70m. The report claims several other Premier League teams are also keen on the Brazilian winger.

The player is said to be open to a move to the Premier League to a club in the top six. Newcastle have not yet established themselves as one of the country's elite, but are on their way to rebuilding their standing within the Premier League.
