Here are the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Wednesday, 7 September 2022.
Brazilian youngster
Newcastle United were among the sides who contacted Vasco da Gama over the availability of young Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos. That is according to TNT Sports, who claim despite interest from the Magpies, Santos has signed a new five-year-deal with the Brazilian second division side.
Barcelona and Flamengo are just two of several clubs who also enquired about the availability of Santos, who is a Brazil U20 international. He has five goals in 27 appearances for Vasco da Gama’s first team.
Rangers talent
Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Rangers youngster Cole McKinnon, according to the Scottish Sun. They claim Magpies scouts have travelled across the border to watch McKinnon in action for Partick Thistle this season, whom he is on loan at.

Newcastle could be set to test Rangers’ resolve in January with a bid despite the fact McKinnon penned a new deal until 2025 over the summer. The 19-year-old scored on his one and only senior appearance for Rangers so far on the final day of last season in a 3-1 win over Hearts.
Carroll Wolves
Former Newcastle United number nine Andy Carroll is reportedly being lined up for a shock Premier League return with Wolves. The striker has been without a club since leaving West Brom, but is said to be under consideration as a free agent alternative to Diego Costa at Molineux.
Bruno Lage's side are in the market for a frontman after summer signing Sasa Kaladjzic suffered an injury on his debut. The former Stuttgart forward felt a pain in his knee during the victory over Southampton on Saturday, and scans later revealed the 25-year-old had sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Wolves agreed a deal for Costa as a replacement for Kaladzjic, but the former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea striker has so far been denied a work permit. The club are set to appeal the Home Office ruling, but have identified Carroll as an alternative according to the Daily Telegraph.
