A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Friday, May 12.
Magpies ready to make 'assault' for Inter Milan midfielder
Reports in Italy claim Newcastle United are one of three clubs interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella. Fellow Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea are all reportedly ready to make an ‘assault’ on Inter Milan to sign the Italian.
That’s according to Inter Live, who say the midfielder is ‘in the grip’ of the Premier League trio who are all keen on signing the 26-year-old. The Inter midfielder impressed in their 2-0 win over AC Milan in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
The report claims an €80million offer would be enough to prise the key player away from Inter this summer, with all three said to be keen on bolstering their midfield options. A move to any of the three aforementioned clubs is reportedly viewed as a 'good move' for the midfielder.
Neymar told to sign for Arsenal over Newcastle
Newcastle United have already distanced themselves from a move for Brazilian superstar Neymar this summer, but former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva has told his fellow countryman to sign for the Gunners.
“Everyone knows the quality of Neymar, I don’t need to speak about his quality. I love the way he plays and I would love to see him at Arsenal instead of Newcastle because I love the boy as a player, but he also has a lot to contribute to football.
"He’s suffered some injury problems which have made life hard for him, but he has so much more to offer any football club,” Silva told Casinosite.nl.
