Here is your latest Newcastle United transfer digest for October 26.
Maignan claim
Newcastle United have already strengthened between the posts, with Nick Pope making the number one spot his own. The former Burnley goalkeeper has impressed since his cut-price summer move, and is almost certain to be named in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the World Cup.
However, that has not stopped one Italian outlet from linking the Magpies to another goalkeeper, despite being told they have 'no hope' of the transfer. AC Milan star Mike Maignan is reportedly on the radar of a host of Premier League clubs, and is said to be 'attracted' by the prospect of a move to England.

However, Calcio Style claim the goalkeeper will have no interest in a switch to the likes of Newcastle, Brentford, and Crystal Palace who are listed as 'second-tier teams'. Manchester United and Tottenham have both been linked to the 27-year-old.
Eguinaldo link
Andrey Santos is a name that has been linked with the Magpies for a number of weeks now as the club continue to scour the global market for emerging superstars. The signing of Garang Kuol was confirmed last month, and reports indicate Newcastle have been rebuffed in their initial approach for the Brazilian teenager.
Now, Canal do Pedrosa via Sport Witness claim United are also monitoring the teenager's Vasco da Gama team-mate Eguinaldo. West Ham have also been linked to the 18-year-old who has so far scored three times for the Serie B side this term.
Eguinaldo's agent told the outlet's YouTube channel: "I also asked about Newcastle’s interest in the attacker. What he told me there is an observation, yes, from Newcastle, over Eguinaldo. But there is also the observation of several other clubs. These are very embryonic things, very early, and they are not even considered negotiations or anything very official.”
