Bruno reunion?
Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claim Newcastle and Atletico Madrid are chasing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar. Nottingham Forest were previously linked with 24-year-old - a former teammate of Bruno Guimaraes - over the summer.
Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne hailed the Frenchman after their shock Champions League defeat to Lyon in 2020. He said: “Lyon have a great team. I don't follow the French league as much as other leagues…

“But if I have to pick one player that has impressed me from Lyon, it would be Houssem Aouar. He was fantastic."
Another Brazilian linked
The prospect of signing another Brazilian would undeniably excite Newcastle fans. Guimaraes and Joelinton are two fans’ favourites on Tyneside, with green-and-yellow flags on display at St James’ Park.
Now, iNews are reporting that Toon chiefs have “held discussions” about signing South American sensation Andrey Santos. Currently playing for Vasco da Gama, the 18-year-old is valued at £30million and has represented Brazil at under-16 level.
Dan Ashworth has ramped up focus on the club’s academy since his appointment as sporting director. Confirmation that Australian international Garang Kuol will join the club in January means the Magpies have signed five youth players under his short tenure.
Wood to face the axe
GiveMeSport suggest Chris Wood will be allowed to leave in January. Just two goals in 25 games since a £25million move from Burnley make him the only questionable signing of the Saudi-backed reign so far.
Reporter Dean Jones thinks the 30-year-old could be headed for the St James’ Park exit just one year from his arrival. He said: It’s always been hard for Chris Wood to fit in at Newcastle. The transfer seemed strange from the start.
“I think part of it was the fact that they were looking at set pieces and him getting on the end of crosses. But, with the way that Newcastle are now improving and moving on to another level, part of me does expect for him to be made available in January if he wants to move on.”
