Newcastle United team news: Eddie Howe goes with Wilson over Isak for Man United showdown

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe named Loris Karius between the posts at Wembley but there were also big class in midfield and attack.

Indeed, £63million striker Alexander Isak was only named on the bench with Callum Wilson starting the clash against Manchester United. And in midfield, Joe Willock was only deemed fit enough to start as substitute in the capital.

That meant Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton were the three in the engine room. Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Wilson led the attack. Karius will be protected by the reliable back four of Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Fabian Schar and Dan Burn.
