Eddie Howe handed Elliot Anderson a start in Newcastle United's friendly clash in Lisbon tonight.
The youngster is wanted by a clutch of teams on loan but Anderson is getting a chance in pre-season and may yet stay at Newcastle for the season.
Howe named Nick Pope in goal with a back four of Kieran Trippier, his skipper Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman and Matt Targett.
A midfield of Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes, Anderson with Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson forming a three pronged attack.
Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka was injured while Paul Dummett and Ryan Fraser were rested.
