Newcastle United target Hugo Ekitike has been nominated for the 2022 Golden Boy award after a breakthrough season with current club Reims.
The 19-year-old was Europe's top scoring teenager in the big five leagues for the 2021/22 campaign and is said to have agreed a €30m (£25.6m) move to the north east.
Finding the net 10 times in just 23 Ligue 1 appearances, the France U20 international was also directly involved in a goal every 96 minutes for his side.

With Ekitike's name amongst some of the world's finest young talents, including Anthony Elanga, Joško Gvardiol and Jude Bellingham to name a few, the former Vejle loanee comes with strong praise already attached to his name.
Despite his relatively tall frame, the striker is growing into becoming a super player on the ball as well as off it, with more than 70% passing accuracy over short and medium distances.
With Matt Targett already through the door at St. James Park, Ekitike is likely to provide a youthful edge to the Magpies striker department, should he join the Magpies, given Callum Wilson and Chris Wood are both 30 years of age.
