Newcastle United were subject to a cruel 2-1 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening as Reds youngster Fabio Carvalho scored in the 98th minute, even though five minutes of added time had been awarded.
Eddie Howe's men went into halftime deservedly ahead thanks to a debut goal from club-record signing Alexander Isak before Roberto Firmino equalised for the much-improved hosts in the second half before a last-gasp winner from the Portuguese forward.
The defeat also puts an end to the Magpies' unbeaten start to the season, with the Tyneside outfit having six points from their opening five matches of the season with a home match against Crystal Palace on Saturday next up in the fixture list.
