Newcastle United supporters react to 'laughable' repeat Bruno Guimaraes snub by Brazil manager Tite

Newcastle United fans have given their thoughts on Bruno Guimaraes finally making his World Cup debut, with some labelling it 'criminal' that he's had to wait so long.

The Magpies midfielder had to wait until the 58th minute of their second group stage match against Switzerland to make his World Cup debut before replacing Manchester United midfielder Fred.

Brazil left it late to take the lead but a sweet Casemiro volley put the five-time world champions in front after 84 minutes, sealing a 1-0 win to qualify into the knockout stages with only Cameroon left to play later this week.

Guimaraes wasn't selected to start for the second match in a row, despite his incredible start to his first full Premier League season after finding three goals and two assists so far.

Many Toon fans took to social media to discuss the decision by Tite, with plenty of them angry that their midfielder wasn't chosen over others. Here's what they had to say...

@bigkev1346: You'd think they would learn, he's the best midfielder they have. Fred and Casemiro over him is criminal.

@ttdumper: Laughable how he doesn’t start.

@MattSkaife: He's playing well... unsurprisingly. No idea how he doesn't start for Brazil over Fred.

@lukeoneill2205: The notion that you need to be involved in the game to have a valid opinion is null and void when a supposed world class manager picks Fred over Bruno.
