Newcastle United supporters are disappointed to see Marcel Sabitzer avoid punishment for his high challenge on Wout Faes during Manchester United's clash against Leicester City.
The Red Devils midfielder caught Foxes defender Wout Faes on the knee with his studs, but Stuart Atwell didn't decide to brandish a card.
Graeme Souness claimed at half-time that Sabitzer should've been given his early marching orders, something that Newcastle fans were quick to agree with, with Bruno Guiameres' red card versus Southampton fresh in their minds.

"One hundred percent, I think this is a red card for several reasons," Souness said on Sky Sports. "For a start he’s partly to blame because he’s on his heels, Faes, when this ball break from him not being alive to it, but that, Sabitzer has turned side-on to him, and that’s a classic case of if you’re going to go and do someone, that’s how you do it. You turn side-on.
"If he makes contact with the ball, what’s he going to do with the ball? He’s looking at the player. I don’t care what some referee who’s never played the game has to say on that, that is a sending off.
"If that’s not dangerous play, what is? Ask any professional footballer, he’s turned side-on, that’s a classic case of setting yourself up to do someone."
Newcastle will be without Nick Pope for the final after he was sent off in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Liverpool, and some of the Toon faithful believe Man United should without Sabitzer next weekend.
Here's a look at some of the reaction on social media:
@Matt_Balm I’m not one the conspiracy theorists, but some of the decisions with VAR are awful. How was that not a red? Yet Bruno - straight 3 games.
@BellsyNUFC Surely I can only think the only reason why he wasn't booked was that there wasn't severe contact.
@oneturkiye Red card everywhere on the planet but Old Trafford.
@NUFCBrace That's a straight red card and 3 match all day long for Sabitzer. How can you possibly justify otherwise?
@cornedbeefpie Pope missing the final for a handball while Sabitzer's challenge wasn't even punished for a yellow. Unbelievable.
@TalkofTyneside How has Sabitzer not been sent off for this?
@s_r_nufc Sabitzer should be off and there's no way Rashford is onside for his second. Can't wait for next Sunday.
