Newcastle United supporters were in agreement that Anthony Gordon made the difference against West Ham United. The new signing came off the bench to replace Allan Saint-Maximin and instantly got the Toon on the front foot, but was unable to help the Magpies find a winner.
Joe Willock thought he'd given Newcastle the lead inside 60 seconds but it was ruled out by VAR after Miguel Almiron was unable to keep the ball in play in the build-up. Magpies supporters had less than a minute until they could finally celebrate, with West Ham loose in their play from the resulting goal-kick, Sean Longstaff teeing up Callum Wilson to continue his impressive scoring run against the Hammers.
However, Lucas Paqueta would equalise for the visitors midway through the first-half. Bruno Guimaraes' bets friend - who was once linked with a move to St. James' Park - capitalised on some poor defending to level the scoring. Neither side were able to find the winner with the spoils shared on Tyneside.
