Newcastle United supporters name their starting XI for final day Burnley clash

Newcastle United supporters are hoping Eddie Howe restores England international Kieran Trippier back to the Magpies starting line-up for their final game of the season against Burnley.

Trippier picked up an injury against Aston Villa back in February and has only featured once for Newcastle since. He came on off the bench in Newcastle's 5-0 defeat away to Manchester City at the Etihad but was an unused substitute in the Magpies 2-0 win over Arsenal on Monday.

After a season of twists and turns, it is remarkable that Newcastle head into the final day of the Premier League season with the chance at a top 10 finish if they beat Burnley at Turf Moor. Martin Dubravka is the obvious fans choice between the sticks. With rumours aplenty about Newcastle's interest in Manchester Untied keeper Dean Henderson, it could be Dubravka's final outing for the Magpies.

Trippier returns to the fold at right-back in place of Emil Krafth, while Fabian Schar and Dan Burn are the selection at centre back. It could also be Matt Targett's final outing for Newcastle too. Signed on-loan from Aston Villa, Targett has proved to be a solid full-back for Newcastle and the Magpies will almost certainly look to keep him around on Tyneside this summer.

The midfield is unchanged from the trio that ran the show against Arsenal. Bruno Guimaraes is flanked either side by Sean Longstaff and Joelinton, Newcastle's player of the season.

Joelinton's transformation from an ineffective forward to sublime box to box midfielder has been one of the stories of the Premier League campaign. With only half a season under his belt in the position, it will be exciting to see just how far he and Newcastle can go next season with a strong summer window.

Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin start out wide in the fans XI. Almiron has enjoyed a strong run of form late in the season, even picking up the Premier League Goal of the Month award for April following his stunning solo strike against Crystal Palace.

Saint-Maximin also enjoyed his best game in black and white for a few months against Arsenal. He tore Arsenal full-backs Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares to shreds on Monday night as Newcastle all but ended the Gunners top four hopes.

Up front, Callum Wilson gets the nod over Chris Wood. While he didn't score against Arsenal, Wilson was electric for Newcastle on Monday night. Running the channels and providing a goal threat up front, Wilson ran centre backs Ben White and Gabriel ragged over the course of the 90 minutes.

Newcastle are pretty much at full strength for this afternoon's clash against Burnley. After a rollercoaster of a season, Howe's side will be hoping to sign off the season in style at Turf Moor, which could see the Clarets relegated if Leeds United win or draw against Brentford.
