Newcastle United supporters want Eddie Howe to name an unchanged line-up from the one that defeated Nottingham Forest last weekend. The Magpies got their 2022-23 campaign off to a flyer by brushing aside the Reds 2-0 at St James’ Park.
However, the Seagulls will provide a sterner test on the South Coast after claiming a 2-2 victory away to Manchester United. Graham Potter’s side are tipped by many to become the Premier League’s surprise package this season.
Buoyed by their victory at Old Trafford, Brighton are aiming to build on their ninth-placed finish - despite losing star players Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella. Newcastle did claim a 2-1 win on home soil against the Seagulls in March.

Howe raised eyebrows a week ago by naming big-money arrival Sven Botman on the bench. This poses the only slight dilemma again but, given the performance of Dan Burn and Fabian Schar, the Dutchman appears unlikely to start.
It is hard to make an argument for any Magpies player to lose their place after the stellar team performance against Forest. ChronicleLive readers believe only a late injury should force Howe into changing his line-up against Brighton.
