Newcastle United supporters have hailed Eddie Howe for his substitutions during their 2-1 victory over Brentford.
Howe made a double change at the break by introducing Callum Wilson and Anthony Gordon at the expense of Sean Longstaff and Jacob Murphy respectively with Newcastle trailing 1-0 at the time.
The Magpies climbed back into third by coming from behind at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Manchester United had leapfrogged the Magpies courtesy of their 2-0 win over Everton in the early kick-off, but Newcastle returned to third-place on goal difference with a fifth win on the spin.

Brentford were awarded a penalty in the 27th minute when Kevin Schade was upended inside the box by Sven Botman. Toney had converted his previous 22 penalties for the Bees but Nick Pope plunged to his left to thwart him.
Chris Kavanagh pointed to the spot for a second time when Rico Henry was caught by a high-foot from Alexander Isak. After a lengthy VAR review, Toney made no mistake from the spot as he made amends for his previous miss by lifting his effort over Pope.
Newcastle levelled proceedings nine minutes after the interval. Joelinton surged inside with an impressive run and saw his shot from an acute angle diverted into the net via a decisive deflection off Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Raya's own goal provided Newcastle with a route back into the game, and they seized the momentum by taking the lead with a thumping finish from Alexander Isak.
Callum Wilson teed up the Swede on the edge of the box, and Isak opened up his body and found the top corner with an unerring strike.
Wilson then thought he'd got his name on the scoresheet when he brought down the ball in the box and dispatched his finish beyond Raya. However, his goal was subsequently chalked off for handball after a VAR review.
@AngelNUFC This just shows what a brilliant manager Howe is, made big changes at half time that won us the game. Give him the manager of the season right now.
@tynetakes What a win. To turn that around after such a poor first half is a huge credit to Howe and the mentality of the squad. Those are the type of wins that the good teams grind out. 5 wins in a row is huge at this point of the season. Thought Gordon was superb, changed the game. Get in!
@S9Wolf Absolutely fantastic result boys, well done! Boy did I bite some nails off at times though.
@milessteven001 Superb mentality, and a much improved display in the second half after a tired performance in the first. Not a bad result either considering we were up against a VAR team that really don’t like the idea of us in the Champions League.
@DanneMedSkagget What a second half! What a turnaround. This team, man.
@Matty_Pugh That was a massive win, super hard game, fair play to Brentford. Great change from Howe at half time.
@Sh3llr Thank goodness! Some great subs to get us ahead in the second half. Shame it wasn’t 1-3!
@Kylewh2000 Brilliant mentality from the players and bold substitutions from Eddie which were very positive. Weren't dominant as I'd like to see but credit to Brentford they are a brilliant team. Would love to know what was wrong with Isak and Gordon when they came off.
@hayleyweeen That was a tense one but that was a huge second half. Proving we can scrap out a result now when we’re not at our best and that’s what we need if we want Top 4.
